Theres a guy in this area who is selling small pines,4 ft tall,for $20 each.He advertises in the local paper.If yours are easy digging,you might not want to cut them all down.

Joe,why not a pto driven generator to run your compressor and all kinds of other tools.Might even run your house in a power outage.

OK,I got one mounted to the chipper with some fuss to get it aligned properly.It wasn't that bad but a helper would speed things along some.Only problem I had was that I had to lengthen the pto shaft. The hitch sets the impliment back about 5 in.Now it works fine.now a question,since the chipper is farther back and is heavy anyway, I'm wondering about about stress on hyd during transport.the tractor manual says to lock the 3pt hitch in the raised position and move the position control to down position,but it dosn't explain how to do it.Not asking for specifics because my brand is unmentionable on this board,but is this a comon practice,and if so how is it usually accomplished?Thanks!

I use to work for a telephone company.All of the buildings in my area had emergency generators powered by diesel.They all burned white kerosene year round.

Tony,When you start working on that hillside your fluttering hart will tell you wich way to go.Around here you drive down and you back up.If you can flip the tractor over it's front wheels it's time to ditch it and get out your climbing rope.Murf,i'm going to try using the gas peddle this spring when i start mowing.However i think it will be hard to keep the mower up to speed with the kind of mowing i do (short runs with lots of stopping and turning around ).

Have you tried tracks mounted over the wheels on your bobcat? I saw one operating this past summer in some real mucky stuff and it did quite well.Just a thought,i don't get to many.

I'm running a Danuser 6in. chipper with a 32hp tractor.The chipper has belt driven feed drum instead of hydrolic and works great.I first bought a 4in. Bearcat with manual feed and it was a pain in the a-- unless i was chipping nice strait limbs which was not often.I'm usually clearing brush,around here that means Honeysuckle,multifloral rose,Maple, apple,etc.If you really want to get cut up,try feeding long multifloral limbs into a blade grabbing manual feed chipper.Beleave me,you will get beat up a lot less with an auto feed model either mech. or hyd. driven.And like someone else said,the speed control makes a big difference.My tractor stalled a few times with the 4" but has never bogged down with the 6".Also get the largest unit you can aford.The wider feed shoot makes chipping hard,crooked brush much easier.
